WhatsApp is working on expanding its multi-account feature on iPhone, with a future update potentially allowing users to manage up to three accounts on the same device.

The feature was spotted in WhatsApp beta for iOS version 26.37.10.15, according to feature tracker WABetaInfo. It remains under development and is not currently available to beta testers or the wider public.

WhatsApp already supports two accounts within the same iPhone app. The proposed expansion would add a third account, making the feature particularly useful for people managing separate personal, professional or other phone numbers.

Users would be able to add another number through the app's account list or by using the account-switching option. Each profile would continue operating independently.

Chat histories, notifications, privacy settings, backups and media would remain separate for each account. Notifications would also identify the account receiving a message, helping users avoid confusion when managing several profiles.

App Lock would work independently for each account, allowing users to apply separate authentication protections to their different WhatsApp profiles.

The change could reduce the need for users with several numbers to maintain another phone or use WhatsApp Business simply to access an additional account.

However, the three-account feature has not been released yet. WhatsApp has not announced when it will enter beta testing or become available to all iPhone users.
